Vera is a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT No. 120027), supervised by Elizabeth Rivas (LMFT No. 94886). Vera recently graduated with her M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy from USC after completing her B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Applied Psychology from UC Santa Barbara. She is currently working on her hours to become a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Vera has experience working with first responders, as she has been working as an AMFT through UFLAC’s Behavioral Health and Wellness Center within LAFD since May of 2020. In her time, she has participated in debriefings for critical incidents, collaborated with the peer support and behavioral health teams, provided counseling for firefighters and their families, and participated in educational workshops on topics for “firefighter culture.” Vera has so much respect for all first responders and finds this work to be her passion.
